ABSTRACT:
The present invention relates to a novel tobacco cultivar designated NC 2000, which is resistant to blue mold caused by the fungusPeronospora tabacinaAdam. The invention provides seeds of the cultivar NC 2000, plants and parts thereof of the cultivar NC 2000, a tissue culture derived from the cultivar NC 2000, hybrids produced from cultivar NC 2000 and lines derived from cultivar NC 2000, as well as genetically modified forms of the foregoing plants and tissue culture. Also provided are methods of producing cultivar NC 2000 plants, cultivar NC 2000 hybrid plants, and tobacco lines derived from cultivar NC 2000.
