ABSTRACT:
Titanium chloride catalysts having improved activity to polymerize propylene are prepared by treating TiCl.sub.4 with an aluminum alkyl and treating the resulting titanium chloride catalysts with carbon dioxide and a Lewis base such as di(n-butyl) ether at an elevated temperature.
