ABSTRACT:
A support suitable for catalyst having a surface area in the range of from 80 to 200 m.sup.2 /g, a pore volume of from 0.3 to 0.5 ml/g, a side compression strength of from 70 to 240 N/cm and a pore diameter of from 60 to 200 Angstom units. The support contains from 60% to 100% by weight titania (TiO.sub.2) and from 0% to 40% by weight alumina (Al.sub.2 O.sub.3). The support is produced by raw material of titania. The invention also provides process for producing said support and catalyst employing the same.
