ABSTRACT:
The invention relates to the use of a 5,6-dihydroxyindoline corresponding to the formula (I): ##STR1## in which R represents a hydrogen atom or a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl group, as well as the acid addition salts of these compounds for dyeing keratinous materials, in particular human keratinous materials,
and to the tinctorial compositions and methods employed.
