ABSTRACT:
The present invention relates to a method for time base correction during generation of a digital video signal from an analog input video signal, and to an apparatus having means for digitizing an analog input video signal using such method.According to the invention, the method includes the steps of:receiving an analog video signal;generating a digital video signal from the analog video signal with a video decoder;storing at least a part of the digital video signal in a memory;detecting a portion of corrupt data having an abnormal field ordering in the digital video signal;either discarding the portion of corrupt data or replacing at least a part of the portion of corrupt data with previous data stored in the memory; andoutputting the digital video signal.
