The therapeutic use of thyrotropin releasing hormone (TRH), its analogs aor metabolites in the treatment of circulatory shock and/or central nervous system (CNS) ischemic damage is disclosed. Additional evidence of the utility of TRH as a CNS stimulant is revealed.
