ABSTRACT:
Lubricants are stablized against oxidative degradation by the incorporation therein of hydroxylamines substituted with thioalkanoic acid residues of the formula ##STR1## wherein R and R.sub.1 are independently H, alkyl or aryl, X is independently OR.sub.2 SR.sub.2 or NR.sub.3 R.sub.4 wherein Rhd 2 is H, alkyl, cycloalkyl or aralkyl, and R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are independently H, alkyl or aryl and n is 1 or 2.
