ABSTRACT:
A magnetometer made of thin film ferromagnetic material measures a component of an extraneous magnetic field which lies within the film at right angles to the direction of a magnetic field which is periodically excited within the film in opposite directions at sufficient intensity to saturate the film, in the presence of unidirectionally flowing current within the film along a path preferably extending at an angle of about 45.degree. to the axis of anisotropy lying within the film.
