ABSTRACT:
An internal combustion engine having combustion chamber walls coated with a thin ceramic coating with a specific heat of less than 0.12 BTU/lb/.degree. F, a thermal conductivity of less than 11 BTU/HR/FT/.degree. F and a thickness of 0.2 to 1 mil so as to reduce heat losses and increase efficiency of the engine.
