ABSTRACT:
A resin composition for injection molding, composed essentially of 100 parts by weight of a thermosetting resin such as phenolic resin or unsaturated polyester resin, 5-250 parts by weight of a salt of an oxyacid of phosphorus and 15-245 parts by weight of a filler which is preferably inorganic, on condition that the total amount of the oxyacid salt and the filler is in the range from 20 to 250 parts by weight. Preferably the oxyacid salt is a phosphate, especially a polyphosphate, expressed by MO.sub.m/2.nP.sub.2 O.sub.5, where M is a metal element including Si, m is the valence of the metal M, and n is in the range from 0.1 to 0.7, or an alkali metal salt of such a phosphate. This composition gives moldings that are very high in thermal stability. As a typical application, a fully practicable reflector for automobile head lamps is produced by providing a body molded by using this composition with a metal film by vacuum deposition.
