ABSTRACT:
This invention is directed to processes for forming either solid, linear polymers or thermoset polymers from novel N-cyanourea compounds of the formula: ##STR1## wherein n is at least 2 and R is the organic moiety of a polyisocyanate remaining after reacting the NCO groups of the polyisocyanate with cyanamide, preferably under atmospheric conditions. These N-cyanourea compounds are polymerized to solid, linear polymers useful as an epoxy curing agent, by agitation for about 50 hours under atmospheric conditions or to a thermoset polymer useful per se as an adhesive or sealant by heating at a temperature above 90.degree. C.
