ABSTRACT:
A thermodevelopable photographic material comprising a support and a layer composed of (a) a high silver ion conducting substance having an ion conductivity at 25.degree.C of at least 1 .times. 10.sup.-.sup.3 (.OMEGA.cm).sup.-.sup.1, such as silver iodide tungstate, or a mixture of the high silver ion conducting substance with silver, and (b) a weak reducing agent. In order to increase the sensitivity of the material, a photosensitive silver halide can further be incorporated in the layer. The photographic material is exposed imagewise, and then heated for a short time to form a permanent visible image of clear contrast.
