ABSTRACT:
A thermodevelopable photographic material having a reduced tendency to fog formation by heat, comprising a support and at least one layer containing (a) an organic silver salt, (b) a catalytic amount of a photosensitive silver halide or a compound capable of forming a photosensitive silver halide by reaction with the organic silver salt (a), (c) a binder, (d) a reducing agent, and (e) a specific bromine-containing heterocyclic compound. In order to increase the transparency of the thermodevelopable photographic layer of the material and the density of the image and to improve its storability, a topcoating of polymer can be formed on the photographic layer.
