ABSTRACT:
A thermal transfer-receiving sheet of the present invention comprise a substrate made of a plain paper and a receptor layer formed by applying, on the substrate, a powdery composition containing a dyeable resin. The receptor layer has a coated amount in a range of 6 g/m.sup.2 or more and 22 g/m.sup.2 or less, or alternately has a substantial thickness in a range of 7 .mu.m or more, which is defined by excluding a portion of the receptor layer infiltrating the substrate. A surface of the substrate may has physical properties in which a surface texture is in a range of 471 or less in terms of a roughness index, and a surface roughness is in a range of less than 2.1 .mu.m in terms of an arithmetical mean deviation of profile(Ra), less than 23.2 .mu.m in terms of a maximum height (Rmax) and less than 20.8 .mu.m in terms of a mean roughness of ten points(Rz)
