ABSTRACT:
Thermal insulation with a double-walled housing, between the two housing walls of which an evacuated space is provided which contains at least one fiber-like insulating material which retards the heat flow between the two housing walls and is arranged perpendicularly to the temperature gradient. The insulating material is formed by glass fibers which are made of at least two different glass materials, and the modulus of elasticity of which remains large at temperatures above 400.degree. C.
