ABSTRACT:
An expansion valve includes a temperature sensing rod made of metal, for sensing a temperature of refrigerant in an evaporator outlet side passage. A first pressure chamber and a second pressure chamber are separated by a diaphragm. The temperature sensing rod include a small-diameter shaft portion and a diaphragm stopper portion which is connected to an end of the small-diameter shaft portion and contacts the diaphragm. The evaporator outlet side passage and the second pressure chamber are communicated through a space. A heat transmission delay member made of resin is press-fitted to the temperature sensing rod, and includes a thin cylindrical portion which covers a part of the small-diameter shaft portion, placed in the evaporator outlet side passage, a thick cylindrical portion which covers a part of the small-diameter portion, placed in the space and the thick circular plate which covers the diaphragm stopper portion.
