ABSTRACT:
A thermal compensator for stabilization of the operation of a waveguide DBR laser against changes in its operational parameters due to operational temperature changes so that thermally induced longitudinal mode hopping in the laser is suppressed and, in addition, the desired operational wavelength may be stabilized.
