ABSTRACT:
A method for treatment of diseases caused by deficiency or overproduction of the vitamin D.sub.3 metabolites by administering analogs of 1.alpha.,25-dihydroxyvitamin D.sub.3. These analogs are selective agonists or antagonists for the genomic and rapid nongenomic cellular responses. A pharmaceutical composition comprising 1.alpha.,25-dihydroxyvitamin D.sub.3 analog.
