ABSTRACT:
A method for producing tetra-N-alkyl derivatives of bicyclic ureas having the general formula: ##EQU1## wherein n is 0 or 1; R and R' is H, lower alkyls, which can be the same or different, characterized in that bicyclic ureas, unsubstituted at nitrogen atoms are alkylated with alkyl halides in liquid ammonia under the action of an alkali metal amide, followed by separation of the target product.
Said tetra-N-alkyl derivatives of bicyclic ureas are pharmacologically active compounds. The most active representative of said compounds, 2,4,6,8 tetramethyl-2,4,6,8-tetraazabicyclo-3,3,O-octanedi-3,7-one, is the active principle of a medicinal preparation used for treating psychic disorders.
