ABSTRACT:
Terephthaldialdehyde monoacetals represented by the general formula: ##STR1## (wherein, R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are lower alkyl groups) are novel compounds, and they are produced by the reaction of terephthaldialdehyde with alcohols in the presence of a strongly acidic substance as a catalyst.
