ABSTRACT:
A tensioner, in which an inner body and an outer body, which can deal with tensioner mounting forms and tension imparting functions required from various engines can be assembled and its efficient production and reliable assembling without wobbling and clattering can be performed. A body22of a tensioner21is composed of plastic outer and inner bodies23and24formed by different members respectively. The outer body23is provided with a tensioner mounting means and an inner body fitting hole23a, the inner body is provided with a plunger accommodating hole24a, a plunger26biased by a compression spring27is slidably fitted into the plunger accommodating hole24a, a bottom portion of the plunger accommodating hole24ais provided with a check valve31, and at least the inner body24, the check valve31, the compression spring27and the plunger26form an inner body side unit33, which imparts proper tension. Further, the inner body24, which forms the inner body side unit33is adapted to be fixed into the inner body fitting hole23aof the outer body23by heat welding.
