ABSTRACT:
A television format converting apparatus converts a first television signal based on a predetermined format, which includes a luminance signal component and color signal component, into a second television signal based on other television format of a different aspect ratio, which includes a luminance signal component and color signal component. The first television signal is digitalized and then converted into a digitized second television signal. The digitized second signal is converted an analog signal in synchronization with a frequency of four times of a color sub-carrier frequency, so that hardware structure of the apparatus can be significantly simplified and the exact conversion of television signals can be realized.
