ABSTRACT:
When the power is switched on, a CPU41sets up a video signal selector47to select a composite signal a output by an amplifier/detector46. Meanwhile, a CPU21sets up a second video converter31to encode and to output, as a Y/C signal f, a digital broadcast video signal received across a signal path33, and also transmits an initialization end notification to the CPU41. Upon receiving this notification, the CPU41sets up the video signal selector47to select the Y/C signal f output by the second video converter31.
