ABSTRACT:
A novel technique is disclosed for the prevention of false positive reactions in immunological testing which are caused by interference of C.sub.1 and C.sub.1q. The method is based on heating a sample of a body fluid at a temperature of 59.degree.-64.degree. C. in the presence of a particular neutral salt. A method for screening for rheumatoid factor is also disclosed.
