Salient embodiments comprise magnetic recording sliders whose record-confronting face is characterized by two or three rails wherein stiction forces are counter-acted by provision of a "boss" on one or several rails, or therebetween; and also characterized by provision of a "back-bar" and associated a purge channel; and methods for rendering such are also described.
