ABSTRACT:
The clips which are used to transfer the yarn, e.g. a ribbon yarn, have clamping surfaces which are disposed in cross-wise manner but at an inclined angle from a true perpendicular. For example, the clamping surfaces of one clip are inclined at an angle of at least 4.degree. from the perpendicular to the clamping surfaces of the other clip. The inclination of the clamping surfaces to each other may be obtained by setting the clamping surfaces at an angle to the jaws of the clips. Also, the clamping surfaces may be twisted within a clip.
