ABSTRACT:
The video data to be reproduced is stored in a file in a video title set (VTS) secured in an information recording area on an optical disk. In the beginning area of the video title set (VTS), video title set information (VTSI) for managing the video title set (VTS) has been written. The video title set information (VTSI) is provided with a table (VTSI.sub.-- MAT) for managing the video title set information. In the table (VTSI.sub.-- MAT), the attributes peculiar to the video data (VTS.sub.-- V.sub.-- ATR) stored in the title set (VTS) have been written. By referring to the management table (VTSI.sub.-- MAT), the video data to be reproduced is set in a reproducing system.
