ABSTRACT:
A system10for increasing electrical spark current to the spark plugs of an electronic ignition system for internal combustion engines includes a capacitor12parallel with a switch14; a primary winding16; a secondary winding18in series with a spark plug20, the capacitor12and switch14being in series with the primary winding16; and a battery22having a positive terminal connected to the primary winding16, and a negative terminal connected to the capacitor12, switch14and spark plug20. The components cooperating to direct positive and negative electrical currents through the primary winding16whereby a peak to peak primary winding current occurs that induces a corresponding secondary winding current through said secondary winding18.
