ABSTRACT:
Alumina silicas for refining glyceride oils having a surface area of at least 150 m.sup.2 /g and a pore volume of 0.6 ml/g in pores having a pore diameter of about 4-20 nm, exhibiting a phosphorous removal capacity of more than 100 ppm P/1% in combination with a sufficient bleaching activity. These silicas should be prepared at temperatures for the acid treatment, hydrogel treatment, and alumina silica formation of 35.degree.-55.degree. C.
