ABSTRACT:
A refrigerator oil mainly comprises, as a base oil, an ester of a carboxylic acid having a specific structure represented by the formula ##STR1## and at least one kind of an epoxy compound, which refrigerator oil is excellent in electrical insulating properties, stability to hydrolysis, wear resistance, non-hydroscopicity, compatibility with a hydrogen-containing halogeno carbon refrigerant, and thrmal stability and chemical stability.
