ABSTRACT:
.alpha., .beta.-unsaturated-ketones are synthesized by reacting with an aldehyde and an alkali metal salt of acetoacetic acid in the presence of an aliphatic secondary amine in the mixture of heterogeneous solvents producing an oil layer and a water layer.
