ABSTRACT:
Alkylaromatic compounds may be synthesized by reacting an aromatic compound with a mixture of carbon monoxide and hydrogen at alkylation conditions in the presence of a dual-function catalyst. The catalyst system will comprise (1) a composite of oxides of copper, zinc and aluminum or chromium, and (2) an alumino-silicate which may be either in crystalline or amorphous form.
