The present invention provides a method for the synergistic control of undesirable plants such asPoa, PolygonumandSetariawhich comprises applying to the plants or their locus a synergistically effective amount of a combination of a dinitroaniline compound and an imidazolinone compound. Further provided are synergistic herbicidal compositions comprising dinitroaniline and imidazolinone compounds.
