ABSTRACT:
A restraining device completely encircles a person's torso beneath his underarms and then is firmly anchored to the mattress or bedframe. The restraining device is made from a top and bottom sheet releaseably fastened together along mating ends which when fastened form an opening for encircling a person's torso. The head end of the top sheet is arranged with a pocket or other means of attachment of a panel of semi-rigid material to prevent a person from effectively grasping anything beneath the top sheet. The top sheet is suspended over the bed surface by elastic straps extending over and fastened to the side rails of the bed.
