An introducer guide15for introducing medical items into an internal tissue of a patient is provided. The guide15includes a cannula20defining a lumen sized to receive the item and a lateral opening24.A ramp is disposed within the lumen adjacent and inclined toward the lateral opening24.A hub40′ is attached to the second end22of the cannula20.The hub40′ includes a gripping portion41′ configured to be held when inserting and positioning the introducer15.The gripping portion41′ has a length lgpsufficient for gripping and a tactile indicator44disposed along substantially the entire length lgpof the gripping portion41on the hub40′. The indicator44has a fixed angular relationship with the lateral opening24.The invention also includes methods for obtaining a biopsy sample and methods for treating lesions.
