ABSTRACT:
A surface mount variable resistor meets the needs of user for front and rear terminals of an insulating substrate. The surface mount variable resistor includes an insulating substrate1with a variable resistor pattern3and electrode patterns5formed thereon, resistor termination terminal fittings7connected to the electrode patterns5, an electrically conductive slider15including a sliding contact15cthat slides on the variable resistor pattern3, and an intermediate terminal17that includes a rear intermediate terminal fitting portion17aand is electrically connected to the electrically conductive slider15. The intermediate terminal17includes an extended conductor portion17cand the rear intermediate terminal fitting portion17aintegrally formed with the extended conductor portion17c. A front intermediate terminal fitting portion17dlocated between the resistor termination terminal fittings7is integrally formed with the extended conductor portion17c.
