ABSTRACT:
The invention relates to a support system for buildings having straight, longitudinally and transversely extending girders which are subjected to both compressive and tensional stresses. The girders are releasably connected to one another by connecting members. The girders and the connecting members are each in the form of a single casting made of a ductile metallic material such as gray cast iron with spheroidal graphite, malleable cast iron or cast steel.
