ABSTRACT:
A retrievable well tool for use in a subterranean well utilizes plural valving elements to establish a fluid by-pass around an annular elastomeric sealing element in response to either downward or upward movement of a control mandrel. The fluid by-pass established by movement of the control mandrel is accomplished prior to any effective disengaging movement being imparted to the cooperating cone and slip elements.
