ABSTRACT:
Disclosed herein are substituted oxirane compounds corresponding to the formula ##STR1## wherein X represents halogen; Z represents hydrogen, halogen, cyano or lower alkyl; R and R' each independently represent hydrogen, halogen, cyano, nitro, alkoxy, trifluoromethyl, benzyloxy or lower alkyl, with the proviso that when R' is hydrogen, R is cyano, nitro, alkoxy, trifluoromethyl, benzyloxy or loweralkyl. The compounds are especially useful as pesticides in preventing germination of undesired plant seeds and controlling noxious weeds and fungal organisms and can be formulated to provide pesticidal compositions.
