ABSTRACT:
Processes and compositions are described for the use in perfume aroma augmenting, modifying, enhancing and imparting compositions of one or more substituted dimethyl dihydroxy benzene and/or cyclohexadiene compounds, represented either by the equilibrium mixture: ##STR1## (and other tautomers) or by one of the components of the equilibrium mixture wherein the dashed line is a carbon-carbon single bond or a carbon-carbon double bond.
The above-mentioned compounds, taken alone or in combination, provide and/or enhance and/or enrich "Oak Moss" notes in perfumes such as "Mousse de Chene".
