ABSTRACT:
A dye-donor element for thermal dye transfer comprising a poly(ethylene terephthalate) support having thereon, in order, a subbing layer and a dye layer comprising a dye dispersed in a cellulosic binder, and wherein said subbing layer comprises from about 5 to about 35 percent by weight of recurring units of an ethylenically unsaturated monomer, from about 0 to about 20 percent by weight of recurring units of an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid, and from about 55 to about 85 percent by weight of recurring units of vinylidene chloride.
