ABSTRACT:
A storage system has a plurality of storage frames. The storage frames are filled or emptied by a gantry having a plurality of fork tines which can be shifted between a first and second operative positions which are 90.degree. apart. The tine can also be tilted as it is moved between an advanced and withdrawn position relative to the storage racks.
