ABSTRACT:
The stowage type seat1is built into the rear seat of an automobile, and is constructed from a seat cushion2that supports the hips of the passenger, a seat back3that supports the back of the passenger, and a safety bone4that acts to absorb impact and ensure strength in the case of severe impacts from the rear. The seat back3is constructed from a fixed remaining-part shell11and an opening-and-closing part shell12that can open and close on the side of the seat cushion2. Both of these shells are connected via a connecting rod that passes through the lower parts of the shells, so that the shells can pivot; furthermore, these parts have a construction in which opening and locking can be adjusted by a stowage lever part14on the upper end part. An opening-and-closing control part15that adjusts the opening-and-closing speed of the opening-and-closing part shell12, and an open-lock pat16that prevents erroneous operation of the opening-and-closing part shell12when open, are disposed in the two shells.As a result, since various types of objects of attachment can be built into the seat back in a replaceable manner, a multi-purpose stowage type seat which is superior in terms of safety, economy and convenience can be provided.
