ABSTRACT:
A sternal retractor formed of a toothed rack having two arms supporting blades, wherein one of the arms carries a removable bearing blade whose axis is in a plane forming an angle of 30.degree. to 60.degree. with the plane of the rack and the other arm is a round rod carrying two removable blades in the form of closed, loosely fitted claws. The retractor is designed to be reversible.
