ABSTRACT:
A steerable mole for making a hole in the ground has a round tubular body, a guidable drilling instrument mounted in front on this body via a ball and socket joint, a device mounted in the body in order to guide the drilling instrument in relation to the body. The ball of the ball and socket joint is fixed to the drilling instrument, while the device for guiding the drilling instrument has a steering element situated in the body which turns round the longitudinal axis of the body of which the front is directed obliquely at this longitudinal axis of the body and works together with the back of the ball of the ball and socket joint. Another device rotates the steering element around the longitudinal axis of the body.
