ABSTRACT:
The invention provides a steel wheel-type linear motor in which a protective cover11having insulating properties and coming in direct contact with a stator coil9is located on the ground side of the stator coil9protruding from a stator core7; a vent hole 11ais formed in the protective cover11to be opposite to a gap formed between ends of the stator coil9protruding from the stator core7; and a bar10protrudes from the stator core7and thus the protective cover11on the stator core7side is pressed onto the stator coil9to be supported by the bar10, the protective cover11on the side opposite to the stator core7is fixed to the stator coil9by a fastener member12having insulating properties that goes through the vent holes 11a, and the stator coil9and the protective cover11are formed to be of integral structure using an insulating varnish.
