ABSTRACT:
A continuous hot dip galvanizing line for coating steel strip includes a continuous annealing furnace for annealing the strip before discharging the strip directly into the molten coating metal and a broad based bridle is located in the final cooling zone of the furnace. The broad based bridle includes at least two spaced bridle rolls each of which is independently driven and controlled to produce a more uniform tensile load in the strip and improve strip stability and coating quality in the final product.
