ABSTRACT:
A steam engine with axially aligned cylinders. Disposed within the cylinders are aligned pistons. An inlet valve is provided for each cylinder to control the flow of steam in the associated cylinder for imparting a reciprocating movement to the piston in the associated cylinder. Power conversion means have a swash plate that is disposed between the pistons and that is rotated by the sequential power strokes of the pistons. The inlet valves are actuated by means responsive to the movement of the swash plate to control the flow of steam in the cylinders.
