ABSTRACT:
An aqueous water resistant, viscosity stable adhesive composition for use in paper bonding applications comprising a hydrophobically modified fluidity corn starch having a water fluidity of about 60 to 80 and a solids content of about 8 to 40%. The starch having the formula ##STR1## wherein R is a dimethylene or trimethylene group, R' is a hydrocarbon group having 5-12 carbon atoms and Y is H, alkali metal, alkaline earth metal or ammonium.
