A stapler apparatus of the type using continuous belt-formed staples200includes a staple feed claw25for advancing the staples200sequentially to a stapling position103,and a drive means50for driving the staples200drawn to the stapling position103.A clincher means40bends the ends of the staples200driven into the sheets and pivots a staple feed pawl25interlocked to the staple bending operation of the clincher means40for sequentially feeding the staples200to the stapling position103.This construction lightens the load on the drive means to staple sheet stacks, facilitates smooth driving operation of the drive means, and reduces the occurrences of trouble.
